VanGolf App To Maximize Golf Experience For Vancouverites

Calling all golf enthusiasts!

The Vancouver Park Board has recently released a new app for your mobile device, allowing you to further enhance your golfing experience at its three championship courses—Fraserview, Langara and McCleery.

The VanGolf app will offer users last minute deals and promotions, as well as allow them to review and book tee times right from their mobile device at any time or place.

Golfers can find GPS yardages, track scoring statistics, watch live leaderboards, use an interactive scorecard, order food and beverages and connect with others through social media websites. The VanGolf app is one of the first of its kind for publicly run golf courses in the Western Canada area. It has been well received by golf players and pros—who have tested it out over the past few months.

“The Park Board recognizes the need to stay current and competitive with our golf courses,” says Park Board Chair Aaron Jasper. “The new app is a great way to build relationships with golfers, improve customer service, and deliver value to both the players and courses. No matter the level of play, VanGolf will help golfers take their game to another level.”

The City and Park Board continue to create more mobile tools to assist those who are always on the go and make sure their services are always accessible to users. With the development of additional mobile applications, their goal is to provide “another step toward becoming a leading digital city,” says the release. “VanGolf demonstrates the City’s commitment to improving access to key services across all digital platforms while increasing opportunities for citizens to more easily connect, one of the main pillars of Vancouver’s comprehensive digital strategy.”

The app is free to download from iTunes or Google Play for Android users. If you are a Blackberry user, you can sign up at the golf pro shops or text ‘VanGolf’ to 54500 to receive the same last minute promotions through text message.

Players can still sign up for lessons or book tee times through their website.
