Travelling past the border sometime soon? You may want to practice extra caution as Canada has recently issued a travel advisory for the U.S., alerting visitors to be careful on their trip.

U.S. Travel Advisory
A travel advisory is in place for the U.S. as Tropical Storm Nolo is expected to become a hurricane and pass off the coast of Hawaii’s Big Island. The storm can potentially bring maximum rainfall amounts of almost 3 feet, according to forecasters.
In aa public advisory, the National Hurricane Centre said, “This rainfall could produce catastrophic life-threatening flooding and mudslides, especially in areas of steep terrain.”
“The storm is likely to bring excessive rainfall and violent winds. It may cause flash flooding and landslides,” Canada said in a travel advisory. Travellers should be aware that the following essential services may be severely disrupted due to the storm:
- transportation
- power distribution
- water and food supply
- telecommunications networks
- emergency services
- medical care
Those in the affected area are asked to exercise caution and monitor local news and weather reports, as well as follow the instructions of local authorities. Tropical Storm Nolo is expected to pass by on September 25 to 26, 2026.
