Get those credit cards ready! After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Free Shipping Day is aiming to woo us Canadians to shop online Dec. 12.
If you shop online, you know hidden shipping costs are a pain in the butt, especially when the goods purchased are being shipped from a different country. A 2009 PayPal survey found that 56 per cent of online shoppers in Canada had abandoned their online shopping carts because of higher-than-expected shipping charges. To fight the fee’s, US started ‘Free Shipping Day’ which has massively grown to 2,600 retailers offering deals and free shipping!
Canada took a recent note on Black Friday & Cyber Monday this year by firing off deals of there own to combat American sales and is now joining the Free Shipping frenzy to many people’s delight!
So far, 142 merchants including Sport Chek, Roots, Indigo, Sears and Reitmans have joined Free Shipping Day and those participating have agreed to deliver items ordered on Dec. 12 by Christmas Eve. More popular retailers are expected to be revealed as participants in the upcoming days so be sure to check out your favorite stores website to save time + money!
This is great news for all the busy people out there, or the one’s who just hate shopping during Christmas season due to the overcrowded malls!
