Nobody Dumps My Daughter, a film shot right here in Vancouver, is set to hit screens on October 12, 2024. The movie stars Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty, Devious Maids), Jasmine Vega (Billy The Kid, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Sheila E. (musician and longtime Prince collaborator), and Aiden Howard (Goosebumps).
Jasmine Vega, born and raised in Vancouver, is no stranger to local productions, having filmed shows like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Virgin River, and The Good Doctor—all of which were also shot in the city.

Directed by Stanley M. Brooks, this darkly comedic drama draws inspiration from a true story. The plot centers around Mary, played by Ana Ortiz, an overprotective mother whose obsession with her daughter’s love life spirals out of control. After Theresa (Jasmine Vega) breaks up with Jimmy (Aiden Howard), Mary becomes fixated on reuniting the pair when she discovers Jimmy was her daughter’s first love.

In a desperate attempt to patch things up, Mary goes to extreme lengths, even consulting a fortune teller named Anna (played by Sheila E.). But as her meddling deepens, things start to take a darker, unexpected turn.
Nobody Dumps My Daughter is produced by Lighthouse Pictures with Gemma Martini, Jamie Goehring, and Jameson Parker as executive producers. The screenplay, written by Richard Blaney and Gregory Small, brings this intense story to life.
