The snow gods answered Whistler’s prayers for snow last week, and they decided to deliver another fresh coat of powder this past weekend.

Pig Alley weather station, situated at 1,650m on Whistler Mountain, measured 42 centimeters of fresh show, increasing the total snowfall received this month to 77 centimeters.

According to the weather forecast, there is another storm predicted for the end of this week, which could potentially push the new total to 100 centimeters.

While the official opening day is scheduled for November 26, a communications representative for Whistler Blackcomb states that the date could potentially be moved up “if conditions allow”.

Local mountains including Cypress, Seymour, and Grouse also received their fair share of snow, and are expected to announce their opening dates soon.
