WestJet has revealed plans to cut 88 weekly flights between British Columbia and Alberta’s major airports by early March.
The reduction will come into effect by March 5, largely due to the rise of oil prices and low demand for specific routes including Edmonton to Abbotsford, and Penticton to Calgary.
As of March 5, WestJet will completely cancel direct flights from Prince George and Terrace to Calgary, as well as all flights from Kamloops and Nanaimo to Edmonton.
For those with existing reservations, WestJet says it plans to get in touch as soon as possible to make new travel arrangements.
