Transport Canada: Volvo Recall
The recall concerns Volvo vehicles across a number of years, as well as models. According to Transport Canada, “on certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse.” This can lead to an increased risk of a crash, as a driver’s ability to see while backing up can become reduced.
This recall is replacing Transport Canada recall no. 2025-233, which was originally published on December 23, 2025.

As for the corrective actions, drivers will be notified by mail from Volvo. They will send a “wireless over-the-air update to eligible vehicles to update the vehicle software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Volvo dealership.”
