Vancouver’s First Cat Café Set To Open Next Month

Catfe Cat Café Coming To Vancouver

Catfe Cat Café Coming To Vancouver

Calling all cat lovers, there’s some purr-fect news for you!

Catfé, the first cat café for Vancouver is set to open very soon. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the new business—which will be part café, part foster home for cats. The unique space will give cat lovers a comfortable spot to spend some quality kitty time.

It will house 8 to 12 adoptable rescue cats; giving them a place to wander around freely, as opposed to being locked up in a cage.

The café will offer an assortment of drinks and snacks to enjoy while socializing with the kitties. It will also act as a gift shop; carrying a variety of cat-themed items and upscale pet products.

Michelle Furbacher, the owner of Catfé, has always had a love for cats. She was intrigued by the idea of cat cafés—seen in many other parts of the world. Furbacher set out to bring a cat café to Vancouver and is now just weeks away from seeing that dream become a reality.

Cat cafés are especially big in Japan, but have been seen popping up all over the place—with Montreal opening one just last year.

While an official date has not been released yet, Catfé will be opening their doors sometime in October.

They’ll be located in Tinseltown, on the second floor of International Village Mall (overlooking Keefer and Abbott).
