Vancouver Whitecaps Commit $1M To BC Children’s Hospital

The new BC Children’s Hospital is getting a Whitecaps-FC themed playroom in the new Teck Acute Care Centre which will serve children recovering from surgery. The facility is slated to be completed in 2017 and funds raised will go towards the comfort and wellness of patients.

Funds raised this season by the team and fans will go towards the purchase of anesthesia monitors for the hospital which are vital tools during surgery. Surgeons at BC Children’s Hospital perform 9,000 procedures each year.

The partnership with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation over the next five years will see $1 million raised through the 50/50 raffles at games and other charity events and campaigns.
