As Spring draws to a close, Metro Vancouver will receive a heat wave to ring in the summer.
According to Environment Canada, the first heat wave of the season will hit British Columbia’s South Coast this weekend.
“Beginning today, the cool showery weather pattern that has been affecting BC for the last couple weeks will start to give way to a strong and persistent ridge of high pressure. By Sunday, temperatures away from the immediate coast will start to peak into the low thirties” said the weather agency in a special weather statement.
Vancouver will see temperatures hover around 22°C on Saturday and see it rise to 25°C on Sunday.
Areas such as Hope, Chilliwack and Abbotsford will see daily highs in the low 30s.
