Vancouver Ranks Third Most Liveable City In The World, Beating Out Toronto

And the great reputation of Vancouver continues to grow.

According to a new report by the Economist, Vancouver has been ranked as one of the best places to live in world.

A total of three Canadian cities made the the annual list, ranking Vancouver third, Toronto fourth, and Calgary which tied for the 5th spot with Adelaide, Australia.

The list ranks cities on 30 factors across several categories. This includes education, environment, health care, infrastructure, and culture. Crime rate was also a category, the report noted Vancouver has seen a decreasing crime rate since the record high in 2012. The report also mentions the top cities were mid-sized cities in wealthier countries with low population density.

Melbourne, Australia took the number one spot on the list for the fourth year in a row. Vienna, Australia came in at second. The bottom of the list included Karachi, Pakistan, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Damascus, Syria.
