On Monday evening a 22 year old man was pulled over by police on the Lion’s Gate Bridge where he was caught reaching speeds in excess of 210 kilometers per hour and then had his vehicle impounded.

The car, a 2015 Ferrari 458, is valued at over $300,000 and was dangerously above the recommended speed of 60 kilometers per hour. In fact, the speed limit drops to 50 kilometers per hour at the entrance of the bridge from the off-ramps.

The young man’s vehicle is now impounded under the Roadside Prohibition Program for a seven day period.

He will also appear in court this September in a Provincial Appearance Notice for Motor Vehicle Act charges of Excessive Speed and Driving Without Due Care & Attention.

Interestingly, this was not the drivers first interaction with this police officer. The two had previously met in April when the driver was pulled over for speeding at the Lion’s Gate Bridge.

This year 95 vehicles were impounded by the West Vancouver Police who urge drivers to exercise safety and always follow the speed limit.
