Meet The Cast Of The New Vancouver-Filmed Sabrina The Teenage Witch Show

Culture
Sabrina Teenage Witch

Filming is underway for the highly anticipated new Netflix show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is based on the Sabrina the Teenage Witch character from the Archie Comics. So the show, which reboots everyone’s 90’s favourite starring Melissa Joan Hart, is also a spin-off to The CW’s hit show Riverdale. Both re-imagined teen dramas film in Vancouver!

With the success and popularity of the Archie live-action adaptation that is Riverdale, it was only a matter of time before the ‘universe’ expanded (dubbed Archieverse or Riverdaleverse).

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based on the comic book series by the same name. Development was announced in Fall 2017, Netflix gave the show a straight-to-season order in December 2017 and filming began in Metro Vancouver aka Hollywood North on March 19, 2018 – just in time for Spring!

Filming around town for the first season is scheduled to last until December 5, 2018 with an expected air date sometime this year. FYI: Sabrina has a two-season order with Netflix so there are plenty of chills to come! Both seasons are filming back-to-back.

Crossover?

Could we soon see a Riverdale & Sabrina crossover on the streets of Vancouver and on are small screens? The unofficial crossover has already been happening in real life as casts from both shows get to know each other:

When the vibe is right✨🍕

Remember the Boy Meets World & Sabrina the Teenage Witch crossover? Nowadays crossover “events” are a normal thing on network television like in the world of NBC’s Chicago universe (Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Justice) or ABC’s Scandal/How to Get Away with Murder crossover. Closer to home, the Vancouver-filmed Arrowverse has given the fans what they want (Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl).

With Executive Producer Greg Berlanti behind Arrowverse and now Archieverse, a Riverdale/Sarbina crossover is inevitable. Plus, in the comics Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge are witches and other Archie Comics characters make appearances.

Other notable crossover TV events include Steve Urkel on Full House, the Ninja Turtles on Power Rangers.
