The premature pup made an early arrival at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre after being discovered struggling and alone.
Dwayne is now recovering, receiving regular fluids and nutrition, and showing signs of improvement.
As we head into pupping season in British Columbia, the Aquarium says it’s not uncommon to see newborn pups left to rest, while their mothers forage for food.
If you do come across a seal pup, don’t touch it, keep pets away, and call 604-258-SEAL (7325).
