There are a number of beautiful places to explore in BC during the summer. From the province’s breathtaking, oceanside beaches, to hikes that lead to serene swimming spots, there are a number of scenic locations to enjoy.

With that being said, autumn’s crisp air and colourful foliage make the perfect backdrop for a weekend getaway. And, there’s nothing better than cozying up in a rustic lodge that overlooks a stunning lake. Luckily, the Tukii Lodge provides just that.

Located on the province’s longest lake, Babine Lake, the beautiful property has a charming, secluded appeal. Although there are other people on the property, the lodge only features 8 cabins in total, meaning that it never feels crowded.

All of the cabins have electricity, an indoor bathroom with a shower, as well a fire pit. As a result, guests won’t feel like they are “roughing it.”

While guests won’t be without modern amenities, they will feel like they are in the heart of the wilderness. For one, the resort is located an hour away from Smithers, a town of only 5,351. So, the land itself is rather remote.

In addition, the lake provides plenty of outdoor activities for the whole family. The lodge provides boat rentals for fishing, and the land is also perfect for bird watching and sightseeing.

For fisherman, the lake even hosts a special strain of rainbow trout called the Sutherland population. They grow much larger than common rainbow trout species, however, fisherman are encouraged to practice catch-and-release with this rare species.

The lake is also home to trophy char, rainbow trout and salmon.
