A Woody Woodpecker feature film has been in the works since the early 2010’s. Fast forward a few years and Universal 1440 Entertainment, a direct-to-video arm of Universal Pictures, green lit a live-action/CGI re-imagining of the beloved childhood classic character.
Filming for Woody Woodpecker took place in and around Squamish in June and July of 2016 for the live-action and principal photography components of the American-Canadian production.
