Almond milk what? The latest dairy-free milk substitute obsession is with oat milk. Equally nutritious as it is delicious, it’s not surprising that the obsession has officially spilled over the bubble tea scene in Vancouver, too. Say hello to oat milk bubble tea!
Vancouver is now home to Baroness 小黑糖, a Taiwanese bubble tea chain well-known for their signature brown sugar-based drinks. It is their first location in North America and with them, they’ve brought along brown-sugar oat milk-based bubble tea to the city.
Each drink is composed of fresh oat milk mixed perfectly with a special and super-secret caramelized brown sugar syrup. The Thai Style Oatmilk drink is a favourite but they also have the always reliable Black Tea Oatmilk for those who prefer a more traditional bubble tea flavour.

Not feeling the caffeine? They have caffeine-free drinks as part of this series as well. Options include Taro Oatmilk and the signature Brown Sugar Oatmilk.
Give your oat-milk drink an extra kick with some toppings while you’re at it. They offer the usual pearl, coconut jelly, and grass jelly toppings but also the increasingly popular taro ball, aloe, and green bean.
