They will be in effect on Thursday, August 22nd, Friday, August 23rd, and Friday, August 29th, 2019.

“These closures and restrictions will allow for geotechnical investigation work related to the Broadway Subway project” reads a statement.

Workers will be undertaking soil study work at Broadway and Arbutus to gather information about the future construction of the project.

As a result, temporary lane closures will be in effect in the eastbound left lane of West Broadway, and the northbound right lane of Arbutus Street between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.

In addition, parking will be temporarily restricted along the northbound lane of Arbutus Street, north of Broadway.

In February, the Mayors’ Council voted for the new SkyTrain extension that will run from Arbutus Street to UBC.

The currently-funded Broadway Subway project will extend the Millennium Line SkyTrain to Arbutus Street, adding six underground stations along a 5.7-kilometre tunnelled route.
