The annual Celebration of Light saw over 1 million spectators visit English Bay and Kitsilano this summer, traveling from local communities across metro Vancouver and throughout British Columbia as well as from the USA and overseas.
In a battle between Team Netherlands, Team Australia, and Team USA, it was the latter who has won the 2016 Honda Celebration of Light with an electrifying performance during the finale this past Saturday.
“Congratulations to Team USA on their winning display, and thank you to all our talented competitors. We are also thankful to all of our partners and sponsors for helping us continue this wonderful Vancouver tradition,” says Paul Tilbury, Co-Chair of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society. “We very much appreciate the time and energy that the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, the Vancouver Police Department and the city’s emergency services teams put into making the Honda Celebration of Light a fun, safe and family-friendly event.”
