Team Canada Wins 2015 Celebration Of Light

Vancouver’s favorite summer festival wrapped up Saturday for the final night of the 25th annual Honda Celebration of Light with team Canada winning top honours narrowly beating out teams from China and Brazil.

2015 marked the 25th anniversary of the event solidifying the annual gathering as the longest running offshore fireworks competition in the world and BC’s largest event.  In celebration of this incredible milestone, the ever-popular Salmon BBQ returned to Sunset Beach Park as part of the Stanley Park Brewing Bistro and the new Clearly Spectacle Lounge hosted guests at the Inukshuk Peninsula – both great compliments to the already well established YVR Observation Deck and The Keg Lounge.  Randy Bachman, Chilliwack and Platinum Blonde highlighted the SHOREFEST concert series presented by LG 104.3FM.

Not only were fans treated to some of the greatest fireworks displays on earth, they were also able to take in three fabulous air shows, including “Super Dave” Mathieson from Discovery television and the Canadian Armed Forces “Skyhawks” parachute team.

The Honda Celebration of Light saw over 1.1 Million fans this year coming from communities across the Lower Mainland and throughout BC.  Dates for the 2016 event will be announced in the fall.
