Growing up in the little town of Pensacola near the Florida-Alabama line provided folk singer-songwriter Tanya Gallagher with some intrinsic Southern soul and perspective. She found her own voice sparkle while studying environmental science and then made the adventurous move out to Vancouver in the fall of 2013.
Once here she pursued a PhD in Landscape Ecology and continued exploring her artistry as a musician.
Fast forward a couple years and Gallagher is set to release her EP “Virginia” on September 30th, 2016.
The songs are personal and represent growth and inspiration for the young artist, a lot of which comes from her time travelling as both an academic and musician. That provides a home away from home feel to match the Southern soulful-folk vibe. There’s plenty of medley from soothing vocals and whimsical guitar playing.
