Metro Vancouver’s newest regional park will be making its grand debut this weekend.
Surrey Bend Regional Park has been in the works for years—and will finally be open to the public this Saturday, on April 16th. It’s the first regional park to be added in Metro Vancouver in a decade.
Surrey Bend combines multiple parks and protected areas along the Fraser River.
The occasion will be celebrated by hosting an event with musicians, entertainers and a special ceremony. The event runs on the Saturday, from noon to 4pm.
The 348-hectare park cost roughly $5.4 million and will include river lookouts, nature discovery areas and plenty of trails for exploring.
