Man Charged For Sexually Assaulting Clients During Massages in Surrey Spas

They came for relaxation, rejuvenation, and over well-being; however, clients of two Surrey spas are allege that they were assaulted during visits.

According to Surrey RCMP, five alleged assaults took place at the White Rock and Guildford Iris Day Spa locations.

The incidents took place between 2016 and 2018, and charged were laid for two of the assaults last week.

Rongxian Li, 58, was charged on Friday, April 13th for two counts of sexual assault. Both incidents took place while he gave massages in December of 2017.

Assaults at Surrey Spas

The first assault took place in 2016, and RCMP have identified a suspect. In addition, they have identified a suspect in one of the 2018 incidents, but are working to identify the second.

“Reporting a sexual assault to police can be a very difficult thing to do, as it is a very personal event,” said Sgt. Chad Greig.

“Our Special Victims Unit takes sexual-assault allegations very seriously and works closely with our Victim Services to ensure emotional support is provided throughout the investigation and court processes.”
