This Wednesday, December 14, the already delicious attractions of Faculty Brewing are bolstered by the one-night-only addition of mouth-watering pastrami sandwiches.
After a successful first edition of the event last year, Faculty Brewing and Mensch. Jewish Delicatessen are once more teaming up to offer this unbeatable food and drink pairing.
This meat is worth heading down for, too. Mensch’s Nitzan Cohen makes the pastrami from scratch. It’s a lengthy process in which the meat is smoked for 8 hours, brined for 10 days and then steamed for 4 hours. The result? Unrivaled flavour.
Now that I’ve whet your appetite, you’ll want to know the details. The sandwiches, served on rye bread with mustard and a pickle, will be available from 6pm until they sell out – it’s probably best to go early to be safe.
Mensch initially opened as a pop-up store on West Broadway but popularity turned the location into a permanent one. Faculty Brewing opened its doors this summer on Ontario Street, close to a number of other Vancouver breweries such as Brassneck and 33 Acres.
