North Vancouver Waterfront Art Gallery Breaks Ground

New Art Gallery To Be Built On North Vancouver Waterfront

North Vancouver’s new and stunning contemporary Art Gallery has finally broken ground in preparation for its 2017 debut.

Known as the “Polygon Gallery“, the new 19,000 square feet facility is set to be a landmark on the North Shore and serve as a world class public art gallery. It will be situated in Lower Lonsdale, next to the SeaBus terminal and cost approximately $15 million to construct.

The gallery is supported by a lead gift of $4 million from Polygon Homes and the Audain Foundation, with an additional $5 million from the provincial government and the City of North Vancouver ($2.5 million each).

Once open, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to experience Canadian and international art exhibitions, as well as participate in engaging public events and art education programs.

The Polygon Gallery will transform and enhance our waterfront landscape as it becomes a part of our vibrant Shipyards District, said City of North Vancouver Mayor Darrell Mussatto.  We are looking forward to the completion of this world class public art gallery that will serve as a community hub while offering expanded opportunities for art exhibition and education in our city.
