The New Westminster Quay is home to delectable eateries along the water, lively entertainment, and a plethora of unique shops and boutiques. The ferries are a fun way to draw people to New Westminster that many may not have considered it prior.
According to The New Westminster Record, the proposed water taxis, similar to those in false creek, were simply not suitable for transportation on the Fraser River. The river’s waters are tremendously fast flowing. The Q2Q vessels can accommodate such rapid waters and also more passengers.
The Queensborough bridge experiences tremendous congestion and therefore alternative modes of transportation were hotly debated for quite some time.
