13 Movies Filming Around Town Right Now

John Cena is in Vancouver filming a comedy while Katie Holmes will be in Victoria filming a horror! Other favourites like Candance Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin and Rick Fox will also be in town for a little while filming their respective TV movie projects.

You can also go royal hunting for Meghan and Harry – or at least the actors who will be playing them in Lifetime’s sequel TV movie about their romance.

Playing With Fire

  • Filming from February 4 to March 29

WWE Superstar and actor John Cena will be flexing his comedy chops in the family movie Playing With Fire. The family comedy has a release date set for March 20, 2020.

Olivia Taylor Dudley, known for her role of Alice Quinn in the Vancouver-filmed fantasy series The Magicians stars in Some of Our Stallions. Also stars Carson Mell from Silicon Valley.

The Boy 2

  • Filming until March 7 in Victoria*

Dawson’s Creek and Ray Donovan star Katie Holmes will be in Victoria filming the sequel to 2016’s The Boy. The first movie starred Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) and also filmed in Victoria. Holmes will play Liza in the thrilling horror.

Aurora Teagarden 11: Where There’s a Will

From DJ Tanner on Full House to Dancing With The Stars and The View, Candance Cameron Bure is also recognized for her work in TV movies on Hallmark Channel. In addition to Christmas and holiday movies, she has the longtime role of Aurora Teagarden. She reprises the role in the 11th installment which is based on the novel series.

With 15 Garage Sale Mystery movies aired to date, Aunt Becky aka Lori Loughlin is back for more mystery. She reprises her coveted role of Jennifer Shannon in Garage Sale Mystery: Search & Seized. She also stars in the Vancouver-filmed Hallmark series When Calls The Heart which premieres its sixth season on February 24.
