The hustle and bustle of city life is exciting, but sometimes you just need to slow it down and visit a quaint little town for your next getaway.

Meet Rossland. The tiny town is so small it doesn’t even have any stop lights. It’s also an incredibly breathtaking hidden gem all seasons of the year.

Nestled in the West Kootenay region, tucked high in the Monashee mountains—it has a lot going for it. With small town charm and the Kootenays as the ultimate backdrop—it’s hard to beat.

The population is just over 3,600, but it fluctuates throughout the year, with the majority of people flocking here in the Winter. While there are no stop lights or large malls, it does have a lot going for it.

It has an 1890s feel, like you traveled back in time. Back in the day, it was known for the gold rush and it still reflects that today with its laid-back vibes.

It features a number of cute little shops and eateries, as well as being an abundant outdoor destination. If you enjoy spending time outside, there’s lots of activities to partake in the area, such as mountain biking, hiking, golfing and snowboarding.
