Maple Ridge Student ‘Excels’ in Microsoft Championship

Three students from Westview Secondary in Maple Ridge claimed their spots as the best in Canada at Microsoft Office and won all-expense paid trips to Dallas, Texas to compete in the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship. One of the three, Nash Taylor, took silver in the MS Excel category at the global skills competition.

Students from over 130 countries put their skills to the test, which means Taylor scored second best in the entire world for MS Excel. He walked away with $3,750 (USD), a medal, a certificate and of course global bragging rights. The student competition tested skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint between over 800,000 unique participants (double last year).
