Langley’s biggest and most popular shopping centre will receive a major upgrade and expansion.
Willowbrook Shopping Centre will receive an additional 140,000 square feet of retail space, a cosmetic renovation of the interior common areas and entrances, and last but not least—a relocation of major stores including Sport Chek and Toys R Us (replacing the vacant Target space).
Willowbrook was originally built in 1979, with the most recent renovation being made in 2007. The mall has 150 stores currently and receives 6.9 million shoppers annually.
The building is in need of an upgrade to revitalize its overall look and design.
The mall expansion will include a lively pedestrian-friendly outdoor mall with new shops and restaurants.
The new and improved centre will have over 200 retailers and more modern architecture.
It’s an exciting time for Willowbrook, as a Chipotle restaurant is also set to open across from the shopping centre in the fall. A first of its kind for Langley—the US-based chain restaurant is best known for their tasty tacos and burritos and will bring a lot of visitors to the area.
