Langley’s gigantic, year-round waterpark will be opening this month, right before the Canada Day long weekend.

It will be the exterior portion of the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre, known as the “Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience.”

The waterpark will have an interactive lazy river, a competition pool, a wave pool with six different types of waves and movie screen. It will also have a circus-themed aqua play structure, a hot tub that fits up to 50 people, and a picnic area.

There will also be a canopy-covered outdoor pool area with a shallower leisure pool. The pool area will be open year-round.

It will be heated in part by solar panels and by using excess energy produced from cooling the ice at the adjacent ice rink that will be in the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre.

Adjacent to the pools will be a sauna and a steam room.

Meant to be accessible to all ages, the Aldergrove waterpark will cost the same as any other Township structure. This means that the fee could be as low as $5.70 per adult and $2.80 a child.
