Government Of Canada Is Hiring Students Right Now With Jobs Paying Up To $38 An Hour

The Government of Canada is hiring students across the country for its Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP). This program invites high school, CEGEP, college and university students to apply and get some part-time and full-time work experience in a variety of fields.

Not only will you be working for the country’s largest employer, but students in the FSWEP will have the chance explore different careers in the federal public service, develop skills, apply their own knowledge, and be part of an inclusive work environment.

The program contains a wide variety of job types from across the country. This includes administration, agriculture, communications, enforcement, finance, IT, policy, and much more. Students will be working everywhere from offices to laboratories, shops to farms, as well as historical sites and national parks.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the FSWEP, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are a full-time high school, CEGEP, college or university student
  • You are returning to full-time studies in the next academic year
  • You meet the minimum age requirement in the province/territory of work

Included in this are persons with disabilities that are considered to have full-time status by their academic institution, and participants in adult secondary-level education and retraining programs under the authority of an accredited academic institution. Also, students in their final year of academic study and who are not intending to return to full-time studies are eligible to work part-time up until the time they graduate.

According to the Student Recruitment System, “job opportunities from this inventory are filled on an ongoing basis.” There are jobs available in English, French, and bilingual (English and French), and pay between $17.75 to $38.38 per hour.
