Justgreet is a new Vancouver startup that offers a unique gifting service with the intention of spreading joy. The online gifting platform allows users to send real greeting cards to any address across Canada for free.
We caught up with Justgreet founder, Teja Edara, a UBC MBA student who just launched the first of its kind service.
What’s the vision behind Justgreet?
My idea started from the point that , e- greeting cards are boring and do not provide that extensive touch and feel which a physical card provides. I believe Justgreet will not only make sending out love and spreading joy, affordable but also a fun and convenient process.
Brand gift offering – Users can also select unique gift offerings from brands- these offerings are coupled with the cards, when the users order them. Users would have option to pick these gift offerings from across various categories. Both the greeting card and the gift offering are sent for FREE!
How do you standout against competitors?
Traditional Greeting card companies have been around for a while. They have their own value proposition to the buyers and probably will continue to do so. We have a unique value proposition that has never been done before.
Free real greeting cards are a segment or a market, which has never been explored before. We do not exactly compete with the other regular brick and mortar greeting card companies. So, we at Justgreet have this advantage over the existing greeting card companies as a new or an alternative way of gifting.
What makes you unique?
Physical paper cards are our medium and not e-cards. We are revolutionizing the way people look at gifting. It’s something that hasn’t been done before. Users don’t pay for anything. The top-notch cards, service or the shipping, everything is FREE!
How many people are on your team?
We are a team of two people as of now.
What is your biggest challenge as a startup?
Reaching out to people and get them to know that something like Justgreet exists!
What are Justgreet’s goals for 2015?
To enable users to send 500,000- 750,000 greeting cards across Canada and USA.
Currently we are giving out limited 10,000 cards across next couple of months. Next phase, by May we would have the website release with complete functionality in place and a complimenting mobile app for IOS and android, We want users to order free greeting cards across channels
We expect to give away at least 500,000-750,000 cards across Canada and USA on both the web and mobile platforms. Apart from this we would expect to have many more extensive partners coming up with unique gift offerings which will be coupled with our greeting cards!
