Dornan and Johnson will reprise their respective roles in the film series, but James Foley will now direct the movie after Sam Taylor-Johnson left following several conflicts with author E.L. James.
The franchise is reportedly shooting the films back-to-back to ensure they can secure the availability of both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
The first Fifty Shades of Grey movie was filmed in Vancouver between December 2013 and February 2014, and brought in just over half a billion dollars worldwide after its 2015 release.
