The FIFA World Cup is right on the horizon now. And although Vancouver is busy preparing for the upcoming influx of visitors, the first hurdle to attending the event is getting tickets.
Unfortunately, potential attendees might have to empty out their wallets if they want a chance at scoring a spot at this prestigious event. World Cup ticket prices in Canada and beyond are far above fans’ expectations.
THE FIFA WORLD CUP
Canada will be hosting its first Men’s World Cup matches in 2026, with Vancouver hosting 7 of them at BC Place. Now that the city is less than a year away from the games, some tickets have already been doled out.
There are a couple different ways people can get tickets. First, fans can opt for using the CanadaRED ticket path, which is a weighted ticket lottery depending on your membership tier with CanadaRED.

The other option is to go directly to FIFA. With three separate lottery windows (with one in September already closed), there are multiple chances for folks to swipe some seats.
Only, the prices have many fans balking. It’s already hard enough to get randomly selected to buy even one ticket, but the cost has plenty of people hesitating over the purchase confirmation button.
WORLD CUP TICKET COSTS
The Visa presale ticket draw officially came to a close on Wednesday. And while a number of fans got the tickets they’ve been longing for, it’s come at quite a high cost.
Through data compiled from people who got presale tickets, Henry Bushnell of The Athletic has revealed a price list for each tournament match. These tournament matches are further broken down into four different categories that denote price ranges. Category 1 will be your top-tier, most expensive tickets, and Category 4 will be your cheapest.
Bushnell’s prices are in USD, and so we’ve used the current conversion rate of 1.40 to CAD to put the tickets into a more Canadian perspective.
CANADA AND VANCOUVER WORLD CUP TICKET PRICES
The Canada openers will be taking place in Toronto. This makes them the most expensive tickets out of all the Canadian matches.
- Category 1: $2,433.89 CAD ($1,745.00 USD)
- Category 2: $1,729.53 CAD ($1,240.00 USD)
- Category 3: $997.27 CAD ($715.00 USD)
- Category 4: $495.15 CAD ($355.00 USD)
Vancouver’s Canada Game 2 and Game 3 matches are far cheaper. Yet, they’re no less expensive when put in comparison to other sports games, or even concert tickets.
- Category 1: $662.52 CAD ($475.00 USD)
- Category 2: $495.15 CAD ($355.00 USD)
- Category 3: $230.14 CAD ($165.00 USD)
- Category 4: $230.14 CAD ($165.00 USD)
Depending on what game(s) you’re trying to see, your ticket total could be in the thousands. Nonetheless, FIFA World Cup tickets aren’t known for being cheap, so is it really any surprise to anyone?
But it is possible to get some for below– or around– $100 CAD. For more details, we break down everything you need to know about the World Cup’s lowest-priced tickets here.
