One of Burnaby’s biggest Taiwanese street festivals TJ Fest is back on May 3rd and 4th, taking over the area around Tian-Jin Temple (3426 Smith Avenue) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days.
This free, annual family-friendly festival offers a weekend filled with mouthwatering Taiwanese street food, multicultural performances, and engaging games and activities.
Now in its 14th year, the event has evolved into a full-fledged street festival, with Smith Avenue closed off to host a vibrant marketplace of local artisans and community partners.
TJ Fest 2025 – What’s New
After drawing over 20,000 attendees last year, this year’s event is expanding with two performance stages, including one dedicated to youth and family programming. Expect a full weekend of traditional dance, live music, and cultural showcases from across the Lower Mainland.
Come hungry – the festival is known for its authentic Taiwanese street food. Fan favourites include popcorn chicken, braised pork on rice, fried noodles, and bubble tea. All food is made fresh on-site and served until it runs out, so early birds get the best bites.
