Come Toward the Fire is a two-day family-friendly festival celebrating Indigenous culture, creativity, and community. Presented by the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), everyone is invited to enjoy a weekend packed with free performances, activities, delicious eats, and a fantastic selection of vendors selling all sorts of treasures!
Come Toward the Fire 2025
As a celebration of Indigenous creativity, brilliance, and culture, Come Toward the Fire aims to amplify Indigenous voices with vibrant spaces and welcoming atmospheres. It’s a fantastic opportunity for anybody and everybody to take part in the festivities and learn more about Indigenous culture.
All daytime programming is free and includes musical performances by Indigenous artists from across Turtle Island (North America), film screenings, dance groups, workshops, storytelling, food vendors, and an artisan market. The market includes mouthwatering food, beautiful beadwork, and plenty of artwork to admire. Whether you’re looking for a gift for somebody or a treat for yourself, you’re sure to find it here.
And at the end of the festival, you can also expect a ticketed finale concert! The performance features legendary powwow and round dance drum group Northern Cree and rising star Tia Wood!
