DownLow Chicken Teams Up With Siren Head Creator for Spooky Halloween Collab

One of Vancouver’s favourite fried chicken spots is getting a spooky makeover this October, and it’s bringing a little internet horror along for the ride.

DownLow Chicken has teamed up with Canadian horror illustrator Trevor Henderson, the creator of the viral monster Siren Head, for a limited-time Halloween collaboration running from October 7 to November 1, 2026.

The partnership includes a specially designed fried chicken sando, Halloween-themed sides, limited-edition merchandise and a creepy new look for DL Chicken’s locations in Vancouver and Toronto.

For anyone familiar with Henderson’s unsettling artwork, this isn’t your typical restaurant Halloween promotion.

From Siren Head to Spooky Fried Chicken

Toronto-based illustrator Trevor Henderson has built an international following for his eerie illustrations featuring supernatural creatures, disturbing figures and mysterious monsters.

He’s best known for creating Siren Head, a towering skeletal creature with sirens where its head should be. The character became an internet phenomenon, inspiring countless fan creations, videos and horror stories.

Siren Head is now being developed into a feature film by Warner Bros. Pictures, with Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You) attached to direct and Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) co-writing the screenplay.

For his collaboration with DL Chicken, Henderson has turned his attention to something a little less terrifying, at least until you see the artwork.

The illustrator has transformed DL Chicken’s familiar logo into a surreal, cryptic chicken that looks like it belongs in one of his unsettling illustrations.

The design will appear throughout the Halloween campaign, from custom packaging to collectible merchandise.

A Halloween Collaboration Years in the Making

For DL Chicken co-owner Doug Stephen, working with Henderson was a natural fit.

Stephen, who owns DL Chicken alongside his wife and business partner Lindsey Mann, has long been a fan of horror and Halloween. “My family and I are big fans of the horror genre and Halloween is our favourite holiday. Trevor is one of our favourite artists,” Stephen said. The collaboration came together after DL Chicken expanded into Toronto, where Henderson is based. “Knowing he was from Toronto, and we had recently opened our first Toronto location, we reached out right away. We’re honoured he said yes.”

Stephen added that seeing the illustrator transform the restaurant’s recognizable branding into something eerie has been particularly exciting.

“Seeing him take our chicken and turn it into something this unique and eerie has been a total thrill. It still feels like DL, just a little spookier. That’s exactly the energy we wanted for Halloween.”

A Limited-Time Halloween Sando and Side Combo

Of course, it wouldn’t be a DL Chicken collaboration without something new on the menu.

Throughout the campaign, guests can order DL’s Halloween Sando Combo for $26.99. The special includes DL’s signature hot chicken, paired with black garlic, roasted red pepper and a black cabbage and fennel slaw. On the side, guests will receive fried Brussels sprouts tossed with balsamic glaze and crispy wild rice.

The combination introduces a darker, seasonal twist to the restaurant’s signature fried chicken, with ingredients and colours that fit the Halloween theme.

It’s available for a limited time, with the promotion wrapping up on November 1.

Limited-Edition Merch and Halloween-Themed Shacks

Beyond the food, DL Chicken is bringing Henderson’s artwork into its restaurants.

The collaboration includes a limited-edition DL Chicken × Trevor Henderson long-sleeve shirt, priced at $45, featuring the artist’s reimagined chicken illustration.

Customers can also expect custom takeout boxes and stickers featuring the same design.

Meanwhile, DL Chicken locations in Vancouver and Toronto will receive Halloween decorations inspired by Henderson’s eerie and abstract visual style.

“We love going all-in on Halloween,” Stephen said. “We’re bringing this experience to both Vancouver and Toronto, so guests in both cities can get a taste.”

For fans of the artist, the campaign offers an opportunity to see his work outside its usual digital setting, this time taking over a familiar Canadian restaurant brand.

Vancouver customers can check out the Halloween collaboration at either of DL Chicken’s local locations:

  • DL Chicken OG: 905 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
  • DL Chicken UBC: 6065 University Boulevard, Vancouver

The DL Chicken × Trevor Henderson Halloween collaboration runs until November 1, 2026, giving fans just a few weeks to try the special combo, check out the artwork and pick up limited-edition merchandise.
