Costco Canada Chocolate Recall
The recall concerns a Nova Scotia-based chocolate company: Peace by Chocolate. The notice was issued voluntarily and precautionarily by the company, following a recall action initiated by one of their approved ingredient suppliers, Tootsi Impex Inc., “for a specific lot of pistachios due to possible Salmonella contamination.”
According to the notice, “Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. In severe cases, it can lead to more serious complications, including bloodstream infections and hospitalization. The elderly, young children, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to have severe illness.”

As of January 8, Peace by Chocolate has not received any reports of illness associated with the recalled products. If you own any of the affected products, you are advised to not consume it. You can receive a full refund on by bringing them to a Costco warehouse.
