Coquitlam On High Alert After Multiple Cougar Sightings This Week

People living in the Coquitlam City Centre area are being asked to be cautious when out walking their dogs after a cougar was spotted twice in the area this past week.

The cougar was first seen at the corner of Glen Drive and Johnson Street Monday evening. It was spotted a second time the next night.

Both sightings involved someone walking their dog.

The first sighting saw the person get back to their house safely. The second however, the individual who spotted the cougar had to scare the cat away.

Safety Procedures

Conservation officers are asking people in the area to remain vigilant and to stay alert when walking their animals.
