Concord Pacific Helps Whistler Families Learn to Skate Together

Concord Pacific is helping Whistler families embrace the joy of skating by making lessons more accessible than ever. By sponsoring 50% of CanSkate program fees, including those for adults and parents, Concord is breaking down financial barriers and fostering community connections on the ice.

“For over 30 years, Concord has supported programs and events that promote a healthy lifestyle in the communities we build and operate in,” said David Ju, Vice President of Concord Pacific. “Learning to skate is a lifelong skill. Subsidizing fees not only for Whistler children but also for parents and adults helps families and communities thrive together.”

Building Community Through Skating

The Whistler Skating Club has seen firsthand the positive impact of Concord Pacific’s support. Robyn Spencer of the Whistler Skating Club expressed her gratitude:

“Concord Pacific has been sponsoring the Whistler Skating Club since 2021. Their support has been critical for keeping programs running, especially in the challenging years following the pandemic. Concord Pacific’s donations have lowered the financial barriers to entry, which means more families and skaters can participate in sport in our community.”

Ben Thomas, President of the Whistler Skating Club, also highlighted the value of these programs.

“CanSkate and adult learn-to-skate programs are great for building confidence on the ice and making community connections. Skating is a life-long sport that spans ages 3 to 70 in our club.”
