Cineplex just announced that it is opening 10 to 15 new Playdium arcade and entertainment centres across Canada in 2018.
The news follows their recent announcement of opening the “Rec Room” entertainment hub in Brentwood, Burnaby in 2019.
These new facilities will be aimed at teens and families, and offer a multiple of exciting games and activities.

The centres will be tailored for each community and offer interactive and exciting experiences like virtual reality. There’ll also be augmented climbing walls, bowling, rope courses and two-level laser tag.

The Playdium Experience
The facility will have food and beverages available, and even private rooms for parties. Parents will also be able to observe their kids from a lounge above the gaming floor.
“Whether it’s a little friendly competition, winning great prizes or sharing a delicious meal, Playdium locations will be specially designed for teens, their friends and family who are looking for an affordable entertainment choice for everyday play, casual dining or to celebrate special occasions,” Cineplex said in a release on Oct. 2.
New Playdium locations are yet to be announced. Cineplex did reveal however that each location will range between 30,000-35,000 square feet, and feature a selection of classic and new-to-market video and redemption games.
Cineplex has owned Playdium since 2015.
