This is especially so for Chinese food, and the results are finally in– the Chinese Restaurant Awards have named a number of Metro Vancouver restaurants as among the best in Canada.

The Chinese Restaurant Awards is an annual celebration of excellence in Chinese cuisine. It was founded in Vancouver back in 2008, and has since named a wide variety of amazing restaurants across Canada and beyond in its accolades.
As a trusted dining guide and cultural platform, the Chinese Restaurant Awards is a fantastic place to find some great food recommendations.

For 2026, they plan to name the “Elite 12” in the U.S. (with 20 Honourees) and “Elite 30” in Canada (with 50 Honourees). Out of these 50 restaurants, Richmond and Vancouver are leading the charge with 16 and 12 locations respectively. Following up in second place is Ontario with Toronto having 6 placements and Richmond Hill with 4.
The Best Chinese Restaurant In Canada (According to the Elite 30)
So, where’s the best Chinese restaurant?
We don’t know quite yet. The ranking will be revealed on September 23, 2026 at the Awards Ceremony at Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver. There, the final 30 winners will be unveiled in ranked order.
But for now, you can check out the top-50 honourees. This includes:

- Lanxuan (Richmond)
- Landmark Hotpot House (Vancouver)
- Car’s Desserts (Richmond)
- Long’s Noodle (Richmond)

Last year, the Chinese Restaurant Awards gave the top title to Vancouver’s Dynasty Seafood Restaurant. And in second place was another Vancouver favourite– Chang’An Restaurant, which focuses on Shaanxi/Xi’an cuisine. Among other winners were Landmark Hotpot House (Vancouver), Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant (Richmond), and Bamboo Grove (Richmond).
