Summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean vacations aren’t. Fall and winter are also widely-loved times to get out of the country and enjoy some time away. But with some recent travel advisories from the Canadian government, you may have to put your vacation plans on ice.
CANADA TRAVEL ADVISORIES
The Government of Canada has four distinct levels that travel advisories are separated into. It ranges all the way from taking normal precautions to avoiding all travel. The middle advisories inform Canadians to either exercise a high degree of caution or avoid non-essential travel.
While many favourite destinations remain in the green like Japan, South Korea, and Fiji, there are some that may make you want to wait a bit before hopping on that plane.

It’s important to note that unless the country is advised as only essential travel or avoiding all travel, you can still go there. It’s just suggested that you exercise more caution than usual, as the country may be experiencing a number of issues that pose a risk to travellers.
You can find 9 of Canada’s most popular vacation destinations that are under a current travel advisory below.
9 POPULAR VACATION DESTINATIONS UNDER A TRAVEL ADVISORY

A number of these countries are under an advisory due to boiling political tensions, the threat of terrorism, and/or criminal activity. It’s important to research where you’re going to before heading to the airport so you know exactly what to expect.
Either way, if you’re planning on travelling to any of these countries, you’re asked to be extra careful and be aware of your surroundings and the people around you.
