The hearts of Metro Vancouverites broke when Tsawwassen’s beloved Splashdown Park closed their doors. Luckily for us, it was short-lived. Executive Hotels and Resorts took over the space and re-opened it as Big Splash Water Slide Park.
The seven-acre water park is set to open for the public on June 4th, with its official grand open slated for June 23rd.
It will feature all of its usual beloved attractions from last year and an all-new one. The new water slide ‘Boomerango’ will open later in the Summer (date TBA) and it will be the largest of its kind in Western Canada.
Boomerango is a popular attraction at other water parks, like The Palms In Dubai and Atlantis. It features an epic 40′ vertical wall that will take your breath away.

“It was important for us to introduce a number of thrilling new features that would make our park unforgettable. From the Boomerango, to renovated slides and pools, we cannot wait for guests to come experience everything we have to offer this season! ” says Big Splash GM, Harold Frederiks.
Big Splash features a variety of body and tube slides, kid-friendly zones, hot tubs and more. It’s bringing back the highly-anticipated ‘Vegas-style’ cabanas that are available to rent out for an exclusive VIP experience. To add to the entertainment, there’s also a new private viewing deck and DJ stand for those looking to host an awesome party.
The water park is only a 30-minute drive away from Vancouver or you can even take a complimentary shuttle service directly to the park from the Canada Line’s Bridgeport Station.
