It’s one of the city’s most popular spots, with locations on Main Street, in Gastown and Yaletown. For appies, you have to try their sweet-chili cauliflower or whisky BBQ things. Their butter chikken poutine is to die for, it includes: fries topped with butter chikkin in a rich creamy tomato curry, gravy, mozza and feta—topped with curried salsa. Their burgers and cashew mac-and-cheese are also popular. Save room for dessert though—they have cronuts, soda floats and chocolate coconut ganache tarts.



Comfort vegetarian food at its finest. Choose a variety of dishes like falafel, eggplant, crispy cauliflower, shawarma and then customize it to your liking. You can get it in a pita, as a salad, platter or hummus plate. They’ve also recently introduced an all-day breakfast menu you won’t want to miss out on. Tofu scramble and avocado toast, anyone? Check them out at 4298 Main Street or catch their food truck along West Cordova during weekdays.




This place has got it all—grilled Beyond Sausages, mushroom karage, artichoke tacos, cauliflower steak, a cashew coconut curry and a pappardelle dish with roasted squash, asparagus and mushrooms. Their brunch menu features a selection of bennies, a mushroom hash and a breakfast bowl with scrambled turmeric tofu. Check them out at the corner of Granville and 12th Avenue.

The Naam


One of the city’s longstanding veggie joints that whips up some awesome grub. They have lots of Mexican dishes, including a cashew avocado enchilada, tofu burritos and burgers made with tempeh. They also do a wicked brunch with a miso benny, scrambled tofu and a veggie hash & eggs. Find it at 2724 West 4th Avenue (you won’t leave here hungry).

Tera V Burger


A quaint eatery whipping up some big flavour. They’re best known for their vegetarian burgers. Try their fiesta tempeh burger, garden burger or Beyond Meat burger. They also have a variety of sandwiches, paninis and wraps. You have to try their lentil panini and grilled veggie quinoa wrap. They also have delicious smoothies, like super food, mango orange and chocolate almond. Grab a bite at 2961 West Broadway.



The place to be if you’re looking for smoothie bowls. They have a couple different acai bowls, an all-day breaky bowl with a tofu scramble, a chickpea curry, harvest salad and a hemp caesar salad. They also have coco-whip for dessert! Their menu is ever-changing so you should just visit this adorable little spot and grab some grub. Check it out at 611 Gore Avenue.


Virtuous Pie


Their plant-based pizza puts others to shame. Grab a slice of their stranger wings pizza, with spicy buffalo cauliflower, crispy fried shallots and a blue cheese drizzle. Or get their ultraviolet, which has walnut and arugula pesto, cashew mozzarella, oven-dried tomatoes, kale, caramelized onions and pine nuts. They have locations at UBC (3339 Shrum Lane) and in Chinatown (583 Main Street).

Lotus Seed


An awesome (and relatively new) vegan joint at 736 West Broadway. Dig into pesto pasta, a huevos rancheros burrito, a vegan benedict, kale wrap, baked spring rolls and an almond alfredo spaghetti (just to name a few). Whatever you order on their menu will hit the spot—as all their options are amazing.

Bandidas Taqueria


Get Mexican dishes with a creative spin at this vegetarian restaurant. Get their bobcat taco with roasted potatoes, pinto beans, purple cabbage, roasted tomato salsa, cheese, and sour cream. Or get their stella burrito, with butternut squash, spinach, pinto beans, roasted tomato salsa, cheese and sour cream. Check it out at 2781 Commercial Drive.

The Acorn


Head over tot his upscale restaurant serving modern vegetarian dishes. Get their beer-battered halloumi with a zucchini potato pancake, smashed peas and a mint yogurt. Another one of their most popular entrees is their slow-roasted rosemary cabbage with potatoes and charred cabbage red wine jus. If you’re not a vegetarian, it might just persuade you. It’s located at 3995 Main Street.
