It is officially September and that means back to school for thousands of university students across the province. Local students at SFU are getting adjusted to a living in a new country, moving out for the first time, and some are looking to finish their last semester.

Best Pubs Near SFU

Highland Pub is located at 8888 University High Street in Burnaby. It is right across from the Bennett Library, making it easily accessible. There is nothing wrong with grabbing a beer (or two) and then heading back to hammer out that assignment. University is all about having fun, and the Highland Pub offers up great themed events throughout the school year.

Club Ilia is located at 8902 University High Street in Burnaby. Think trendy and hip. Offering up great drink specials and a large selection on their food menu, Club Ilia has turned into a hotspot for both students and professors. Need a spot to hang out with your professor to discuss an assignment over a beer? Look no further.

Burnaby Mountain Clubhouse is located at 7600 Halifax Street in Burnaby. Care for some golf? Here you can play a round of golf to blow off some steam followed by a nice meal paired with the perfect drink. Need to get away from campus? Come down and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or a beer while reviewing your notes. Need Friday night plans? Burnaby Mountain Clubhouse was recently the recipient of the 2015 Dine Out Vancouver’s Best $18 Menu. You simply can’t go wrong.

The Burrard Public House is located at 2414 St. Johns Street in Port Moody.
Although not on campus, it’s still in a convenient location and definitely worth the extra kilometers. The Port Moody establishment offers a large selection of wines, cocktails, craft beers and fine spirits. Bonus: they have a different special for every day of the week.

The Great Bear Pub at located on 5665 Kingsway in Burnaby. This establishment is off campus as well, offering a delicious modern pub menu with a mouth-watering lunch feature menu. You can join them for live entertainment six nights a week and show off your mad dance skills. How’s the service? They will have your lunch out in ten minutes or less, but don’t take our word for it.
