One lucky Surrey resident has just been crowned the winner of the December 26, 2025 Lotto Max draw.

Arthur H. reportedly “couldn’t contain his excitement” when he learned that he had just won a $1,000,000 Maxmillion prize.
When it happened, him and his wife were at home, watching the Canucks game. “We’re both Canucks fans!” he said. “I got up during a break to check my ticket [on the BCLC Lotto! App] and I thought ‘wow!’ I was in a state of numbness, so I wanted to check again just to make sure.”
Naturally, the first person he shared the good news with was his wife. “I went back to her and showed the ticket and asked, ‘What do we do now?’ She said it was only $1,000 and I replied with ‘Honey, count the digits!’”
Arthur went to double-check the digits with a self-scanner at a gas station, finding the win to be confirmed. He doesn’t have any specific plans for his prize money, but he does intend to help his family.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Shell station on 152nd Street and 20th Avenue in Surrey.
Other B.C. Winners
2026 has already seen some impressive lottery wins from B.C. residents. One Penticton resident managed to net herself a massive win after just cleaning out her purse. In it, she found an old Lotto 6/49 ticket that she had bought “on a whim” nearly a year ago. She was just in time to find that it was actually a winning ticket.
Two other B.C. residents also won a combined $1.5 million in the same Lotto Max Draw.
“In 2025, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $248 million from Lotto Max,” says BCLC. The lottery game is drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays after 7:30pm (PST).
