BC Ferries has revealed new artwork for their new Salish Orca vessel.
The new look was revealed during a special ceremony in Esquimalt, and designed by Esquimalt First Nation artist Darlene Gait.
It will be the first of three new BC Ferries Salish Class vessels, and feature artwork both exterior and interior for customers to view. The new ship will also replace the 50-year old Queen of Burnaby on the Comox-Powell River route later this year.

The Salish Eagle will also arrive later this year, and the Salish Raven will arrive in 2017. Both will also feature unique artwork, and are currently under construction in Poland. Upon arrival, they will serve the Southern Gulf Islands.
All three Salish vessels are named to honor the Coast Salish, who are the original mariners of the Salish Sea which makes up the network of coastal waterways on the southwestern point of British Columbia.
