BC Ferries Cancels 4 Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay Sailings Due To Damaged Rescue Boat

BC Ferries has cancelled four sailings this morning between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay after an incident occurred with one of the ship’s rescue boats.

The four sailings, scheduled for the Spirit of Vancouver Island, that have been cancelled are the 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. sailings from Swartz Bay and the 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. departures out of Tsawwassen.

However, the vessel is expected to be ready for its 3 p.m. departure from Swartz Bay.

This incident also coincides with the start the Labour Day Weekend. BC Ferries usually experiences heavy traffic between their Vancouver to Victoria route on the Friday before the weekend.

BC Ferries has said that refunds will be provided to those who made reservations on the cancelled sailings.
